I guess you can say, this summer is finally over. One look out my window today announces the fact its time to batten down the hatches, stock the cupboards and go into hibernation mode…it’s grim!!
If I was encouraged I could probably fill a post to last through to next summer on the nuances and sheer comedy of a ‘british summer’. Instead I am going to refrain from such folly as I am pretty sure someone somewhere has nailed that subject to the ground. A better option would be to share this photograph (with minor hue and saturation tweaks) that I took a year back on Brighton beach. It was taken at about 9.00 pm just as the sun was setting on what was one of the hottest days of that year. Many people had stayed out and a mist of smoke from fires lit for Barbecues was slowly cloaking the sky in a hazy film.
This picture always reminds me of what a summer should be….
