I just recently found myself inheriting some movie poster design action…
click thumbnails for full artwork..
With only so many hours to spare and a rapidly diminishing deadline with no returns, I was able eventually to pull a poster and DVD inlay out of the artists bag of tricks.
The artwork was for a short film directed by Brian Rose entitled ‘The Supremacy’. After watching the full film supplied, my mind was made up to give this project a bit of the DST treatment (the kick ass wu-tang clan & funk soundtrack sold it!).
Filmed on location in Brazil and London, The Supremacy is a fast paced, dare I say it..slightly tongue in cheek martial arts mini epic featuring a healthy dose of ‘kung fu’ impact sound samples (the bitch slap in the electrics room between the two girls is a beauty! check the trailer) good guy vs bad guy economics and lots of men in black with shades looking gnarly..
After some initial resolution and aspect ratio issues with the screen shots supplied I finally turned out the said artwork..It was a pity I did not have more time to spend on it as I would have liked to have developed some more ideas I had…next time!
I hear from Brian that feedback from the Toronto Film Festival is strong so hopefully all will go well for him, as I hope his premiere at the Soho Hotel in London does at the end of the month.

This post also gives me an excuse to put the excellent instrumental cover of the wu-tangs ‘Glaciers of Ice’ by Brooklyns El Michels Affair up for your listening pleasure…PURE DUSTED GOLD!..
press play..
